March 22, 2020 Dear Pollock Pines ESD Families, I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I am writing to give you information about tomorrow and our plan to provide meals and distribute work packets. Food Service – Food service will begin at 10:00AM and end at 11:30AM. Our food service will be held at Pinewood Elementary and will be a “Grab and Go” style. The food is free for all families and we will be giving out a lunch and a next day’s breakfast. Children should be present to receive the food. Families will be allowed to drive into the parking lot via the bus lanes and there will be staff available to bring the meals to your vehicle. To ensure social distancing, please remain in your vehicle. This service will be provided daily, Monday through Friday during the same times. There is a chance of inclement weather for next week. Should this impact our ability to provide the meal service, an all call will go out to families giving them information. When driving to Pinewood, please approach using North St. or Polaris and then exit the school using Laurel. Work Packet Distribution – The work packet distribution will be similar to the food service distribution. Parents can drive to Sierra Ridge and Pinewood beginning at 1:00PM tomorrow and ending at 4:00PM to pick up the work packets. Staff will be available to bring the work packets to your vehicle. Additional Information – The school offices at both Sierra Ridge and Pinewood will be closed during the school closure period. The Principals for each site will be sending out additional information regarding times when teachers and administrators will be available each day to help support students. The District Office will be open between 9:00AM and 1:00PM and will be discouraging in person visitations. We realize that there will be logistical issues for some families and we will work through those and make adjustments as we progress in this new system. We will also send out updates as we receive additional information and/or adjust our program. Stay safe. Sincerely, Pat Atkins Superintendent
