What makes a school district a great place to be?  Great locations?  Great staff?  A great community? Great students?  The answer to all those questions is a resounding yes, but how do we achieve that?  In Pollock Pines we achieve that by ensuring that we treat every student as we would treat our own child; by treating every parent as we would want to be treated as a parent; by involving ourselves in the life of our community.  In short, we simply state like Walt Whitman, an American poet, "Behold, I do not give lectures or a little charity, when I give I give myself."

I believe it is a privilege to serve the staff, parents, and children of our District.  Each day I have the privilege and honor of listening to our kindergarteners discover the world and adventure of reading and writing.  I listen to young musicians string together the notes of a song and see their smiles as they realize that it sounded great.  Each week I watch talented teachers expand the knowledge of inquisitive young minds.  Daily I see parents and community members volunteering time to ensure that we continue to raise a generation of inquisitive, creative, collaborative, and capable citizens.  Pollock Pines is truly a special place to live and work.

But we are not done yet.  I share a passion with our staff to ensure that each child is wildly successful, both academically and personally.  My goal is summed up in a quote sent to me by one of our great teachers—"If you learn better, you do better" (Maya Angelou).  Well, I would suggest that you put on your sunglasses, because our future is going to be really bright!
